God Is An Astronaut confirmed for Eurosonic

They are the first Irish act announced for the January festival

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 05 Oct 2011

Eurosonic 2012 is fast approaching and, with Ireland chosen as the focus country, plenty of the island's finest acts will be limbering up and preparing to show the Dutch town of Groningen, and the assembled music industry, what they've got. First up we have Wicklow's God Is An Astronaut. The post-rockers released their fifth studio album Age Of The Fifth Sun last year. RTE 2fm will be sponsoring their trip.

Also Eurosonic-bound is Ram's Pocket Radio from Lisburn. The alter ego of Peter McCauley, Ram's was selected by BBC Radio 1.

Tempus Horizon

Putting up quite the fight for Single Of The Fortnight, ‘Radau’ is a tantalising taster from les Astronaut’s new album. With an atmosphere that builds at its own sweet pace and an eight-armed drummer causing havoc behind a simple guitar riff, GIAN again prove themselves to be at the top of their game. If this doesn’t turn the world onto left-field electro-experimental instrumentals, nothing will. I’m guessing nothing will, though.
