The 2017 programme at Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy will open with a special concert on Saturday 14 January – an intimate solo show with Oscar and Grammy-winning Irish singer-songwriter, Glen Hansard.
As part of The Home Key series, which previously featured Paul Brady, Phil Coulter and Liam Ó'Maonlaí at Seamus Heaney HomePlace, the event will see Hansard drawing on his current solo album, Didn't He Ramble and his extraordinary back catalogue.
Glen Hansard has often cited Seamus Heaney as a great inspiration in his own life and his performance takes place in The Helicon - the 190 capacity, in-the-round performance space, named after the source of poetic inspiration at the heart of the new HomePlace literary centre.
