U2 are one of the acts who get the Glen Campbell treatment on his new covers record.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 31 Jul 2008

There’s another few bob coming U2’s way with the legendary Glen Campbell including a cover of ‘All I Want Is You’ on his Meet Glen Campbell album, which hits the racks in America on August 19 and a week later in Europe.

The collection also finds the country man tackling the Velvet Underground’s ‘Jesus’ – no, really! – Foo Fighters’ ‘Times Like These’, John Lennon’s ‘Grow Old With Me’, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ ‘Angel Dream’ and ‘Walls (Circus)’, The Replacements’ ‘Sadly Beautiful’, Travis’ ‘Sing’, Jackson Browne’s ‘These Days’ and Green Day’s ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’.

"I really like all of the songs and I had a great time recording them," the 72-year-old enthuses. "While I didn't write them, this sounds like a Glen Campbell album, which is important to me."

Judging by the three songs that are being streamed on www.glencampbellshow.com, he’s got a monster hit on his hands.
