Glen Campbell Irish date to go ahead

The American country singer will play Dublin's Convention Centre on November 11, despite being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.

The singer has issued a statement reassuring Irish fans the date, part of what has been dubbed The Goodbye Tour, is not affected. He will be supported by his two daughters and his son's band.

Glen Campbell’s Irish date at the Convention Centre in Dublin in November will go ahead as planned later this year. It was announced over the past few days that Campbell, one of the most successful songwriters of all time, with a string of classics to his name, had been diagnosed as suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.

Glen Campbell is to say goodbye to his Irish fans with his last ever concerts. He was recently diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease. It basically affects his short term memory. Glen is still able to sing, play and perform in the same professional manner that he always has. He will be doing the same top notch show that his fans have come to expect. Glen will also be available to do interviews to promote the tour as he has done in the past.
