George Harrison memorial tree killed by beetle infestation
A new tree will be planted as a replacement.
According to a report by The Los Angeles Times, a tree planted in tribute of the late Beatle George Harrison has died after a beetle infestation.
The tree was planted in Los Angeles in 2004 in memorial of the guitarist, who passed away in the city in 2001. A plaque on the tree reads "In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener," and the quote from Harrison, "For the forests to be green, each tree must be green."

Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge assured all that another tree will be planted in wake of what happened, replacing the dead one.
