This is a good week because it’s a Bruce week!
You can check out the whole of his decades-straddling High Hopes album here but do it quick before the stream disappears. Needless to say, there’ll be a full review in the first Hot Press of 2014!
Free Music Friday’s other favourite thing this week is the new version of Vampire Weekend’s ‘Step’ which features Dublin-bound rapper Danny Brown, Despot and Das Racist’s Heem. It’s very different and very good as you’ll discover at [link]t.co/0K3nzouzCV[/link]
Our Dutch [link]3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/albums.html[/link] friends have new album streams from East India Youth, The Hypnotic Eye, The World Of Dust, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, The Hypnotic Eye, The World Of Dust and all manner of homegrown acts, many of whom are taking part in next week’s Eurosonic blowout in Groningen; try Damien Jurado, Rosanne Cash, Peter Gabriel and Gripe before you buy at [link]www.npr.org/series/98679384/first-listen[/link]; depending on where you live – geo-protection and all that – [link]albumstreams.com[/link] is the go-to place for the latest Hannah Hoch, Grass Is Green, Elaquent, Pastel Arsenal, Acid Fast, Backtrack, Switchfoot, Painted Palms, Hiss Golden Messenger, Mike Golden & Friends, Neck Deep and Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Iron Mind offerings and [link]www.nytimes.com/interactive/arts/music/pressplay.html?_r=3&[/link] provides an upfront listen to David Broza, the man dubbed “the Israeli Springsteen” whose latest is produced by Steve Earle and includes guest appearances by Wyclef Jean and Palestinian hip hop duo G-Town.
Liking Gazzo – and the New Jersey prog house man is very loveable – is all that’s required to get your mitts on his stomping remixes of Eric Clapton’s ‘Cocaine’, Snow Patrol’s ‘Chasing Cars’, Rudimental’s ‘Free’ and loads more. Do the thumbs-up thing at [link]www.facebook.com/GazzoMusic/app_220150904689418[/link] or get a couple of them from Soundcloud.

Bell X1 have premiered a video shot at their Christmas show in Vicar St., which revolves around a killer version of ‘The End Is Nigh’.
It’s the handiwork of Musicians With Cameras, “two recent turned filmmakers who like to make pretty looking videos.”
Last month also found them zooming in on David O’Doherty who’s captured performing his ‘Life’ ditty.

Busta Ryhmes has enlisted Azealia Banks for what appears to be a less than official remix of Beyoncé’s ‘Partition’. Bootleg or not, it’s insanely brilliant and makes us hanker even more for Ms. B’s loooooooong overdue Broke With Expensive taste album, which finally drops in March. Or so we’re promised!

Our week has been brightened considerably by this untitled new tune from Newbridge, County Kildare soundscaper Mmoths.
“It's been a while since I’ve released anything new so I’ve decided to give out something today,” says young Mr. Colleran. “I’m sorry i've been quiet; I’ve been working on an album.”

You have up until January 13 to check out I’m With You, a rather nifty “week in the life of” documentary and concert film put together by Californian popsters – and, we suspect, U2 fans – Grouplove.
It’s the perfect appetite-whetter for the Valentine’s Day release of their new Spreading Rumours album and February 16 visit to the Dublin Academy 2.
There’s also a new single, ‘Ways To Go’, and fabulous accompanying video to check out…
The eagerly-awaited Swedish House Mafia documentary, Leave The World Behind, receives its world premiere in March as part of the South By Southwest festivities in Austin, Texas.
The action centres around the trio’s swansong One Last Tour, which found them them playing to over a million adoring fans.
“With breath-taking live moments, huge laughs and dark lows, the band start to unravel why they came to the decision to end the biggest achievement of their lives to date to save their friendship,” reads the blurb. “As the tour finale edges closer and closer, the debate of why it’s all happening becomes more intense.”

His new album, Calling Off The Dogs, has just dropped and includes fab lead single ‘Lick My Wounds’.
Cop ear/eyefuls below.
Finally, insanely productive Irish studio whiz Auxiliary Phoenix has a free remix album for you, which includes superb Bosnian Rainbows, Silversun Pickups, Beastie Boys and Lisa Papineau cuts. Just make sure to play it loud!
And that’s where we call time on another bursting at the seams Free Music Friday. Have a most excellent weekend and keep them links coming to @stuartclark66
