All hell might break lose at the fact that Frank Ocean has been deemed ineligible to receive a Grammy nomination, but we're thrilled to see that Cork musician Jamie Stanton is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
Jamie Stantion, the 27 year old father of two from Cork, released his debut album Flying Colours in October 2015 and since then the Southern Rock artist has been making waves on the festival circuit around Ireland. Not only did Jamie play Youbloom Festival here in Ireland, but he also played the same festival in LA.
While preparing to head to LA, Jamie put out feelers to find someone to he his guide around the city. Rian Macsuibhne, owner of the Rian Music label in Los Angeles, agreed to help him out.
After an impressive show at Youbloom LA, Rian subsequently submitted Jamie into the Grammy list.
Out of over 20,000 entries, Jamie's single 'Livin' It High' was selected for the Grammy longlist in two categories: Best Country Performance and Record of the Year.
At the same time, Frank Ocean's critically-acclaimed album Blonde is definitely not on the longlist. The singer (intentionally or unintentionally) did not submit his album to the Grammy committee for consideration.
