They've also bagged themselves a Beach Boy!
Fleet Foxes have confirmed a September 7 stop-off in Vicar St. with fellow Sub Poppers Blitzen Trapper in tow. Tickets are €27 and go on sale on Thursday July 9.
In the meantime, the Foxes are recording a track with Beach Boys legend Al Jardine, which will appear on his upcoming A Postcard From California album.
“They’re awesome,” Jardine tells Rolling Stone. “They kind of have the Beach Boys vibe, too – very beautiful harmonies. They’re taking the world by storm, and without any singles.”
The admiration is mutual, with Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold describing the 63-year-old as “Amazing, a really sweet guy.”
The two parties met last month at the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Big Sur – we know a song about that, don’t we? – and decided there and then to work together.
