Star Wars actor says he’s "up for it"
Ewan McGregor has said he wants to star in a Trainspotting sequel. Speaking at the Edinburgh Film Festival he said, "I would be up for it." It was the tale of a group Scottish heroin addicts that first launched him to international fame in 1996.
Trainspotting was adapted from the Irvine Welsh novel and already has a sequel book called Porno, published in 2002. Director Danny Boyle has said that he would like to direct again and that the film will be loosely based on Porno. Welsh said last year that he, Boyle and others who worked on the first film met for a week to discuss the film adaptation of Porno.
Because of a falling out between himself and Boyle there was a feeling that McGregor would not star in Porno but he said, “I miss working with Danny, I did some of my best work with him and he’s one of my favourite directors I’ve worked with. There was some bad blood and ill feeling, but that’s all gone now.”

The events of the novel take place ten years after Trainspotting with the pornography industry the backdrop rather than heroin culture.
