There's disappointment for U2 fans with the band officially axing plans to tour Europe this summer.

While acknowledging that they'd explored the idea of going out on the road with Oasis, an official band communiqué says: "Stories have been swirling round the net for some time about possible dates in 2002 but there'll be no shows this summer."
