Horslips, Thin Lizzy and The Virgin Prunes are among the artists covered on a new album by Canadian singer-songwriter Emm Gryner
How she got to hear all the originals we're not sure, but Montreal singer-songwriter Emm Gryner has recorded an album of contemporary Irish covers.
Mainly assembled in her living room, Songs Of Love And Death makes unlikely bedfellows of Horslips ('Dearg Doom'); Something Happens ('Forget Georgia'); Thin Lizzy ('Running Back'); The Thrills ('Deckchairs & Cigarettes'); Ash ('Shining Light'); Gilbert O'Sullivan ('Nothing Rhymed'); The Undertones ('Julie Ocean'); Therapy? ('Nowhere'); The Corrs ('Breathless'); and The Virgin Prunes ('Bau-Dachong') who'll doubtless be rather tickled that their track features Kate McGarrigle on banjo.
