Whelan's plays host to a night in honour of the late, great musician in aid of charity...
Some of Ireland's top pop and folk artists will take to Whelan's on Monday October 21 to perform in aid of the National Suicide Prevention and Bereavement charity Console.
The gig marks the 10th anniversary of the death by suicide of Elliott Smith and features Ham Sandwich's Niamh Farrell, Turn's Ollie Cole, Bipolar Empire's Shane O'Reilly and trad outfit The Young Folk on the bill.
“We really appreciate this fantastic gesture by so many great musicians and bands to support Console’s work,” says Console CEO Paul Kelly.
“They are giving of their time and talent to get the message out there to people in crisis that Console is here to help when you are going through a difficult time.”
Also on the bill for the event at Whelan’s are Cat Dowling, Dave McGuinness, Barry O’Brien, Fiach Moriarty, Edisons, Eamon Brady, John Byrne and many more.
