Elbow to be publically interviewed in Dublin
It's happening next month as part of the Absolut Fringe festival.
The Hot Press Newsdesk, 19 Aug 2009

Elbow are among the guest interviewees who’ll be dropping in to The Metro Bosco Tent next month as part of Dublin’s Absolut Fringe arts festival.
Taking place at 7pm on September 8, the Barry’s Tea Presents Tea With… event will find Guy Garvey and Elbow’s manager Phil Chadwick quizzed about their overnight success, which has taken 19 years to achieve. Also expect plenty of U2-related tittle tattle, with the chaps opening for Bono & Co. last week in Wembley Stadium.

For a band who have influenced Coldplay so heavily, Manchester’s Elbow have never benefited much from the resulting scene. And while this is neither distinctive nor spectacular enough to suggest their forthcoming album will cause a change, it at least shows Coldplay have some good taste. ‘Forget Myself’ is a grower of a track; given time its mainstream indie-pop powers fully kick into action and unfurl into a worry-free, enjoyable three-and-a-half minutes.
