El Hombre Jokes Announce Serious Tour
A string of December gigs across Ireland and a full-length album confirmed…
El Hombre Jokes are set to give an epic end-of-year finale to 2011, with a host of tour dates in Dublin, Kilkenny, Cork, Limerick and more. The trio released their debut EP Thirteen Steps earlier this year, and thanks to the continued support of the gig circuit they are set to release their debut album in Spring 2012.
Although currently untitled, the Dublin funk rockers are excited about their first venture. "To date, the writing sessions for the album have been great," says singer and guitarist Paul O'Connor. "Some of the tracks coming out are the heaviest we've ever done, and others are massively stripped down acoustic songs - but they're all sounding great and we're really enjoying the diversity so who knows what shape the album will take."
The hard-working boys will be playing Suede, Athlone (November 19), Homegrown Music Festival, Kilkenny (December 1), Crane Lane, Cork (5), Jaegermeister Freezer Sessions, Limerick (9) and The Mariner, Bantry (16).
As if that wasn’t quite enough, they’ve also announced a residency with Dublin venue Whelan’s. You can catch them in the capital on November 22, December 3 and 17.
