As exclusively revealed by Hot Press during the summer, Editors are recording the follow-up to their debut best-seller, The Back Room, in Westmeath’s Grouse Lodge Studios with U2 and Snow Patrol producer Garret Lee.
Talking before flying over this week, Tom Smith said: “I can’t explain in words how excited we all are about the new songs – they’re without doubt the best we’ve ever written. The album won’t be finished before Christmas, but the break will give us the chance to see our families, eat mince pies, get drunk and say ‘hi’ to Santa, then maybe some more writing before we start recording again in the New Year.”
Vying for a place on the finished platter are ‘Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors’, ‘The Racing Rats’, ‘The End Had A Start’, ‘When Anger Shows’, ‘Push Your Head Towards The Air’, ‘A Thousand Pieces’ and ‘An Eye For An Eye’.
