Early release for new Oasis album

PIAS Ireland has announced that Oasis album 'Dig Out Your Soul’ will now be released on October 3, instead of the originally planned date of October 6.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 02 Oct 2008

To coincide with the rush release of the new album, HMV Grafton Street & HMV Henry Street will both be giving away Oasis goodie bags to the first few people into their stores who buy the record.

The first single taken from the album ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ is out now and is regarded by principal song-writer Noel Gallagher as one of the band’s most instant songs “because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast. ‘The Shock of The Lightning’ basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there’s a lot to be said for that, I think. The first time you record something is always the best.”

While the Republic of Ireland eagerly awaits the announcement of a live show, the Odyssey Arena in Belfast will play host to two live Oasis dates (October 29 & 30), both of which sold out in less than an hour.
