Duran Duran are a download hit

Returning ‘80s pop icons Duran Duran have well and truly hit the ground running with their new LP All You Need Is Now. Following the mid ‘90s nadir that was their Thank You covers album and internal band squabbling it seemed Duran Duran would fade into pop oblivion.

Back for a number of years, it now appears they’ve now well and truly reversed the decline – going straight in at No. 1 on the Download Charts in the UK, US, Canada and Italy within hours of going on sale.

All You Need Is Now is an iTunes exclusive nine track digital LP that comes with a free music download and signals a return to their new wave roots.

An extended physical LP and various format special packages will be released in February 2011.

In other news, ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ still sounds great.
