A bumper line-up of gigs for the next few months has just been announced, but sadly for the rest of the country, they’re all based in Dublin.
First up we have Soulwax/2 Many DJs, who come fresh from their stunning headline performance at Electric Picnic. They’re heading over to Spirit on Middle Abbey Street on Sunday October 9, with doors opening at the rock’n’roll time of 10.30pm. As with Electric Picnic, they’ll be playing a live set and then mutating into their 2 Many DJs alter ego. Tickets are but €25.
Hot on their heels are fellow Electric Picnicers Royksopp, who will be bringing their brand of Icelandic chillout sounds to The Ambassador Theatre on October 11. Tickets for this are €30 each.
Still not enough? Then November might be the month for you, with Irish legends The Frames gracing The Point Depot on Thursday 10 November. They’re likely to be on top form, having spent most of 2005 on a world tour in support of the number one album Burn The Maps.
Tickets for the concert are either €30 or €33.
The last of this current crop of Dublin-visiting artistes are Staines up’n’comers Hard-Fi, who make their Irish debut at The Temple Bar Music Centre on December 13. Tickets are €17.
You can reserve your place for any of these gigs from Ticketmaster and all usual outlets.
We shall be shocked if at least one of these fine bands don’t appeal to you...
