Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was smashed to pieces by a man pretending to be a construction worker.
The man, who was wearing a hardhat and a high-vis vest, was videoed taking a sledgehammer and pickaxe to the star.
The Republican nominee for President received the star in 2007 for his work on The Apprentice.
According to Deadline, the man who carried out the act of vandalism said he wanted to auction the star off to raise funds for the women who have accused Trump of sexually assaulting them.
However, more that one source in the US has speculated that the attack may have been organised by a Donald Trump-supporting 'dirty trick' crew. “Look, there may be a strategy here to turn Trump into a victim,” the source said. “You can imagine it: ’Oh, look what these crazy feminist supporters have sunk to now. Poor Donald has a lot to put up with’.”
This is the second time that the star has been a focus for protest.

In July, an LA based artist who calls himself Plastic Jesus installed a mini-wall – topped with razor wire –around the star, in reference to Trump’s threat to build a wall between the US and Mexico.
“That was clearly a legitimate protest,” the source added. “But this latest wheeze has a slightly different aroma about it. But we’ll see, if the police investigation yields any results."
One thing that isn't up for speculation is that this marks another step in an election which has become increasingly bitter and messy. Tensions are high in America leading up to voting day, two weeks from now.
