The Foo Fighter-in-chief says "I don't think I can watch" Montage Of Heck
As the countdown to the Foo Fighters at Slane continues, Dave Grohl is the man staring out majestically from the cover of the new Hot Press.
In an all-encompassing interview, the Nicest Man In Rock™ talks about nearly moving to Belfast as a kid; interviewing Barack Obama, Dolly Parton and Joe Walsh (who tells a wonderful Stevie Wonder in the toilet story!) for his Sonic Highways series; being the 2015 Record Store Day Ambassador; the mythical powers of punk; Queen-obsessed bandmates and, naturally, Nirvana and the Kurt Cobain legacy.
Asked whether he's seen the Montage Of Heck documentary yet, Dave proffers: "I've heard that the movie is really moving and emotional and beautiful and dark and disturbing. I haven't heard anyone say that it's not great, but I don't think I can watch it. It's too weird, y'know? The way I look at life.. I like to have my own memories and experiences, not somebody else's. It's hard for me to watch some of that old stuff. I looked at the trailer for it and thought, 'I don't know if I've been invited to some of these moments.' So, yeah, I don't think I can watch it."
