Sam Smith's second place entry has given Ghost Stories a run for its money this week.
Proving their commercial appeal has not dimmed a jot, Coldplay maintain pole position on the Irish Album Chart. Their sixth album Ghost Stories, which deals with Chris Martin's "conscious uncoupling" from Gwyneth Paltrow, is this week's highest selling record for the second week running.

A new entry just below gives the chart a decidedly fresh look. Sam Smith's debut LP, In The Lonely Hour, is in with a bullet at No. 2.
After their three dates with Croke Park last weekend, One Direction see their Midnight Memories rise a spot from last week into third position. Unsurprisingly, all that Daily Mail faux-outrage over "Zouis" smoking a spliff hasn't hurt them one bit. In fact, their Up All Night goes from No. 13 to No. 7, and Take Me Home shoots up 24 places to No. 9.
Current Hot Press cover star Imelda May is the one Irish artist in the Top 5. Her new album Tribal is at No. 4, while Paolo Nutini's Caustic Love is just below her.
Mick Flannery is at No. 6 with By The Rule, Neil Young's super lo-fi A Letter Home enters the chart at No. 8, and Kodaline's debut rounds off the Top 10.
