Rock legends meet stars of the future at the O2.
The Guns N' Roses show at the O2 last night may turn out to be an historic one for entirely different reasons. The Axl Rose-fronted hard rock kings were supported last night by a revitalised Thin Lizzy, who are gradually working their way back to headline status.
But it was activity backstage rather than in the arena on which the long term significance of the night may hinge, with Lizzy welcoming members of Children Of The Son, the hugely talented up and coming outfit from Wicklow. Click here to see some pics of the two bands together.
The Irish rock legends confirmed that Children Of The Son's debut single, 'Skin', has been featuring regularly on the Lizzy tour bus playlist. The Lizzy gang offered advice to the Mathews brothers, Max, Art and Jack and their cousin Konrad Sheane, and were clearly keen to assist a hugely committed young band-on-the-rise. "It was amazing," an industry insider told Hot Press, "to see how well they all got on. Scott was effusive in his praise of the band, who really seem to have struck a chord with Lizzy."

Meeting the current members of one of the bands that inspired them comes at the end of a hectic week for Children Of The Son, who received their first radio play this week on the Dave Fanning Show on RTÉ 2fm. Positive word is spreading through the industry, with a number of record companies and agents beginning to take a close interest in the band.
