Live8 organiser and former Boomtown Rat Bob Geldof has agreed to be in the Conservative Party's policy group on global poverty.
In a non-partisan role, he'll be advising the group on issues related to world poverty.
David Cameron, leader of the right-wing political party, said that Geldof would help the advisory group "go in the direction that he and we both want to go".
Peter Lilley, former Conservative cabinet minister and the chairman of the group, also welcomed Geldof's contribution.
"He (Geldof) has an enormous knowledge and expertise. He's been working on this area for 20 years.
"He knows more people, he's got access to more expertise than almost anybody else in the world and that's why I'm thrilled to have him as an advisor to the group".
Geldof's explanation for the partnership was more practical: "I don't care who I have to go to to try to make this agenda work," he stated.
