Thursday February 5 brings a two-hour special.
A host of Irish country music are including Declan Nerney, Margo and Philomena Begley were on hand to perform at a tribute evening for Big Tom And The Mainliners last week, and now it's set for the small screen.
The two-hour tribute show on Irish TV, recorded at Glencarn Hotel in the Mainliners' hometown of Castleblayney, will feature a host of familiar faces looking back at the band's extensive career and playing the music that made their name.
"This is a fabulous tribute to one of the true greats of Irish country music," says Irish TV presenter Pierce O’Reilly. “It’s fantastic to see that at 78 years of age, the King of Country can still take to the stage and entertain the crowds, and there are no more appreciative crowds around than in his home town of Castleblayney.
"There were some big names performing on the night, which just goes to show what an impact Big Tom had on country music in Ireland."
You can see it at 8pm on Thursday February 5 via Irish TV (Sky 191, Freesat 400, eVision 191, all free-to-air boxes and irishtv.ie). A repeat will air at 8pm on Sunday February 8.
