Acclaimed folk/rock/funk/hip-hop/everything artist Beck announced today not only that he has been working on a new album but that it will be released before summer.

Beck's last album was the folky Morning Phase, released last year. We don't know much about the upcoming album but Beck has previously said it will be "a lot more up, and energetic, and melodic" than that one, which could be expected since he did some work with the king of happy Pharrell Williams.

Beck is up for a few Grammys this year for Morning Phase, as well as the Brit award for Best International Male Solo Artist, going up against the likes of Hozier, Williams, and others.
