It's the 64th birthday of legendary Thin Lizzy drummer Brian Downey today and to celebrate, we've had a rummage through the Hot Press vaults and come up with a golden 1979 interview with the man.
The late Gary Moore had just permanently left Lizzy and, following a recent crisis that saw Downey pull out of the band prior to an American tour, HP editor Niall Stokes met the stickman for an in-depth chat about their future.
