Arcade Fire announce details of third album

The Suburbs is the third studio album from the seminal Canadian band, coming after a three year wait for new material since 2007's Neon Bible

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 27 May 2010

The album once again features a collaboration between the band themselves and long term cohort and producer Markus Dravs. It's now available for pre-order from the band's website www.arcadefire.com in a range of formats from lossless flac or high quality MP3, to Double 12" vinyl, with premium digital files and a limited edition screen printed poster (designed by Wes Winship from Burlesque of North America), as well as a range of options between.

The band have also released the title track as the first single on limited edition vinyl or as a high quality download taken straight from the original acetate master. The single also includes the excelent 'Month of May', costing $1.99 per download, or for free with any of the pre-order options.

The album will be out in Ireland on July 31, making it a big summer for fans of the band who will also have a chance to catch the band's now legendary live show as they headline Friday night's proceedings at this year's Oxegen festival. The single and album's release will be some consolation for those unable to make the Oxegen date, but amidst whisperings that the band may make another visit to these shores for a date in the O2 this December, there is certainly plenty to be cheerful about.
