DJ tells the Hot Press Annual that Dan Snaith’s recent effort is the year’s standout record
A BBC presenter, bona fide DJ superstar and now the founder of her own festival, Annie Mac definitely knows her music. Hot Press was, then, pretty eager to hear who the Dubliner would nominate as being responsible for the best album of 2014; she had little hesitation.
“Caribou’s Our Love is perfect,” she said, “from start to finish. I keep waiting to get bored of it, and I just don’t. I’ll be listening to it in ten years’ time, it’s an instant classic.”
Ms MacManus says there’s no one thing that makes the record great – in fact, it’s just about everything. “The songwriting, the production, the warmth and lushness, even the mastering and sonics!” she gushes. “Everything is perfect.”
