March for Choice to take place later this month
To mark the International Day for Decriminalisation of Abortion, the third annual March For Choice will take place in Dublin on September 27.
People from all over Ireland will gather in the capital under the umbrella of the Abortion Rights Campaign, to demonstrate a need for change in this country.
It follows a series of demonstrations over recent weeks, following a number of high-profile cases in this country. The March for Choice, however, is the largest event in the organisations calendar.
ARC is made up largely of young women, frustrated by a political system they feel no connection to.

"ARC uses the term ‘abortion’ in its name marking a very deliberate move away from an era of silence, shame and the widespread use of euphemisms like ‘taking the boat’,” a spokesperson told Hot Press.
"Over 150,000 women have left Ireland to access abortion services in the UK since 1980. Many of our members have lived abroad or have friends and family who have emigrated and they cannot but notice how far behind the times we are in Ireland with regards reproductive rights."
