The Aussie rockers are pushing on with a new album.
Sad news for lovers of hard rock riffage par excellence as AC/DC confirm they will be continuing without rhythm guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young.
Rumours have been circulating about the condition of the 61-year-old's health this year and the situation has now prompted him to retire from music.
It does not signal the end of AC/DC, however – the band Malcolm founded with his younger brother Angus in 1973 will release a new album, Rock Or Bust, through Sony on November 28. It will be their first album in six years and their first without Malcolm.
The double announcement was made by Alberts and Sony Music Entertainment Australia, who said: "Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm's illness, he will not be re-joining the band ... Steve Young, nephew of founding members Angus and Malcolm Young, plays guitar on Rock or Bust and will accompany the band on tour."
