Sixth stage announced for Glasgowbury 2012

Glasgowbury to focus more on electronic music this year with Generator stage.

Glasgowbury is introducing the Generator Stage, its sixth stage at this year’s festival. The Generator Stage, in association with Red Bull, will feature DJ talent throughout the day, a mix of up and coming electronic acts alongside established DJs.

The twelfth edition of the Draperstown fest boasts an exclusive headline performance from NI rock giants Therapy?.They’ll be joined by The Japanese Popstars, Fighting With Wire, LaFaro, Silhouette and over 50 more.

The festival will focus more on electronic music this year, with Celtronic curating a selection of acts including Psycatron, Ryan Vail, Deep Fried Fuck, Space Dimension Controller and Boxcutter.

The Red Bull Generator stage will also offer opportunities for some emerging DJ talent including Viasidus Lumos, Kanon and Casion while a number of prolific club night and radio DJs will play some chilled out and good time vibes throughout the day including Phil Taggart, Stephen McCauley, Paul McClean and Rigsy.

Festival organiser Paddy Glasgow will also perform a short set featuring highlights of one act from every year of the Glasgowbury’s twelve-year history.

“The new stage is to create a nice, chilled out atmosphere on the festival site,” he explained. “We’ve a range of different styles playing throughout the day which people will be able to connect with."
