Alice Jago & Black Soul Strangers ready new records
They're out respectively in May and July.
One of Ireland’s better kept songwriting secrets, Alice Jago, returns on May 7 with her Born Stubborn album.
Co-produced by Jago and Karl Odlum, it features the title-track, ‘Cotton On Girl’, ‘Lash The Living’, ‘New St. South’, ‘Warrior’, ‘Pocket Moon’, ‘Sea Song’, ‘Time’, ‘Union’ and ‘Lullaby’, which is currently streaming at www.myspace.com/alicejagocom.
The record gets a live airing when the Dubliner visits the Ruby Sessions, Dublin (April 27); Upstairs @ Whelan’s, Dublin (May 10); Caca Milis Cabaret, Wexford (14); and Bewley’s Café Theatre, Dublin (June 9).
Also confirming the July 5 unleashing of their Animate album are Black Soul Strangers, the Dublin outfit who’ve been making serious headway since relocating to London where they include BBC Radio 2’s Dermot O’Leary and Janice Long among their admirers.
Recorded in Windmill Lane with Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, REM and Editors man Tom McFall, it’s trailed by lead single ‘The Haunting’, which is available now on iTunes.
