Dawn Landes announces Irish dates
The December shows will coincide with the release of her new single, 'Young Girl'.
Her Irish dates are as follows:
11 December 2009 - Belfast - Auntie Annies Porterhouse
12 December 2009 - Dublin - The Sugar Club
13 December 2009 - Dundalk - The Spirit Store
14 December 2009 - Cork - Cyprus Avenue
15 December 2009 - Galway - Roisin Dubh
The new single, out on December 7, is from her new album Sweet Heart Rodeo, which was released earlier this year to critical acclaim.
The Kentucky-born singer-songwriter was inspired on this album by her great-grandmother’s beau, who ran away to join the rodeo during the Great Depression. The rodeo theme that runs throughout the record compares the ups and downs of romance to the rigours of bull riding. “Each song is like its own bull,” says Landes. “Each ride its own love-story... you know, trying to hang on to a wild thing isn’t always graceful.”
