Post-mortem confirms Stephen Gately died of natural causes
Louis Walsh says the funeral will take place on Saturday.
A Spanish court has confirmed that Stephen Gately died on Saturday of acute pulmonary edema, a condition whereby fluid collects in the lungs’ air sacs, making it difficult to breath.
Whilst stressing that the 33-year-old died of natural causes, a court spokeswoman said that testimony will be taken from other witnesses, and samples from Gately’s body sent to Barcelona for further analysis. Only then will the judicial investigation be formally completed.
Boyzone manager Louis Walsh has told RTE that Stephen’s funeral will take place this Saturday at the Church of St. Laurence O’Toole on Sheriff Street.
