Duke Special helps Metropolis Studios celebrate their 60th birthday
The resulting 7" will have vinyl junkies drooling!
Duke Special is recording a new version of his I Never Thought This Day Would Come album track, ‘Diggin’ An Early Grave’, in London’s Metropolis Studios.
Out on March 6 as a limited-edition 7”, its bonus cuts include a cover of the very first 45rpm single – Eddie Arnold’s ‘Texarkarna Baby’, which hit the racks on March 31 1949; an update of Chuck Berry’s ‘You Can’t Catch Me’; and new Duke track ‘Monsters In The Dust’.
Laid down live in front of an invited audience, the single forms part of Metropolis’ 60th birthday celebrations, and will be available exclusively from dukespecial.com and at shows on his upcoming Irish tour.
