Gavin Friday to perform in Disney tribute

Gavin Friday will take a break from recording his new album on April 2 to join the cast of a tribute performance to Disney at Brooklyn's St. Ann's Warehouse.

The Hal Willner-produced musical tribute, titled Stay Awake, will include musical interpretations by classic Disney songs by Lou Reed, Antony Hegarty, Bryan Ferry, David Byrne, Beth Orton, Steve Buscemi, Suzanne Vega, and Grace Jones. Tickets start at $300.

Also on the ticket for Gavin in the coming months is a performance at the Brighton Arts Festival on May 19, where he will narrate a musical version of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's children's story, The Handsomest Drowned Man In The World.
