Bono has given his official blessing to the new Kíla concert film, 'Once Upon A Time', which gets a DVD release on March 7.
“Whatever it is… this is it,” the U2 man muses. “Kíla are right there at the cusp of it. Somehow you get the feeling they lit the fuse for the big bang.”
Those sentiments are echoed by Kevin Godley who says: “I’d never heard or seen Kíla before this film melted my brain. If one could envisage a live concert film that feels like Africa crashing into Ireland, with visual effects by Cirque Du Soleil, it might look and sound something like this. Kíla are an unstoppable force of nature.”
Also described by Hot Press head honcho Niall Stokes as “an Irish Stop Making Sense”, it finds them doing their eclectic thing in Vicar St. against a suitably breathtaking Francis Morgan backdrop.
Having copped an eyeful of it ourselves, we can confirm that Bono, the former 10CC man-turned-video director and our glorious leader are not wrong.
