Franz Ferdinand member to play Dublin DJ set

Drummer Paul Thompson will take to the stage as part of Tripod’s regular club night this Saturday, May 26.

He may not be the most well-known, but Thompson is certainly the man for the job when it comes to manning the decks. Long before he and frontman Alex Kapranos crossed paths Thompson was doing odd jobs as a DJ in Glasgow.

On the back of his Franz Ferdinand fame he’s taken to playing DJ sets with his wife Esther, under the fantastic moniker ‘Polyester’ (Paul + Esther). Esther, a DJ in her own right, is also the lead singer with Cash Machine. So can we look forward to family affair? The recent birth of Thompson’s son Georgie may rule that out this weekend.
