1969 snap up The Pale's new album
Dublin stalwarts The Pale have signed with 1969 Records, home of Dave Couse & The Impossible and Pugwash.
Former A&M signings The Pale, featuring Matthew Devereux and Shane Wearen, have been active since 1990, but The Contents of A Shipwreck, due on May 25, will be the first LP out on the presitigous indie label.
"We have been talking with the lads for a number of months," says Darah Bohan of 1969. "Were excited seeing the album come together over that period. It's lyrically dense but will definitely engage the feet as well."
The album will be supported by single 'Elizabeth In Rags', out on May 11, and a number of dates:
19 May - Tramore, Waterford
26 - Roisin Dubh, Galway
9 June - Radio City, Dublin
4 August - Spraoi Festival, Waterford
18 August - Feile Beo, Dingle
5 November - The Rob Roy Bar, Co. Cork
