Jerry Fish introduces new single, 'True Friends'... otherwise known as "the tune from that Vodaphone ad"
Jerry Fish has announced the release of a new single from his Be Yourself album.
The lead track of the LP, ‘True Friends’ is also the featured soundtrack of the current television ad for Vodaphone.
Reflecting on the Vodaphone link, Fish was optimistic that it might provide a significant boost to sales of the record. "It’s a good platform for getting people familiar with a song," he told hotpress.com.
"Who knows," he laughs. "Maybe we can have a Christmas Number One!"
Be Yourself has been received very positively, with Paul Nolan in Hot Press hailing it as a hugely enjoyable album and a welcome return to form for the man who once fronted An Emotional Fish. For its part, the ‘True Friends’ single has been subject to a number of remixes, most notably by Ken McHugh – who is fast emerging as one of the most sought-after engineers and producers in the Irish music industry.
McHugh released his own debut album, My Sanctuary, under the Automata moniker, earlier this month.
