Releasing their debut album Everything This Way back in January, the Dingle-based five-piece went from strength to strength and picked up a litany of accolades along the way.
At the start of December, Everything This Way became iTunes Best Irish Album of 2016, topping off a fantastic year for the group. Released at the start of the year, after the band was featured on the cover of Hot Press' first issue of 2016, the album shot straight to the top of the Irish Charts, were it stayed for three weeks.
Since then, the album stayed high in the Top 10 for 31 consecutive weeks and became certified double platinum and the biggest selling Irish album of 2016.
The numbers speak for themselves. The band racked up over 22 million Youtube views this year, 59 million streams for their single 'Speeding Cars', and they also enjoyed international success with 210,000 albums sold worldwide. Their music was also included on the Top 10 Most Played in New Zealand and Top 50 Most played in Europe.
To round things off, Walking On Cars played their first, historic headline show at the 3Arena last month and sold out the venue as the icing on the cake.

All in all, not a bad year for a band who are at the start of their career. We look forward to seeing what they can produce in the years and months ahead.
