Ahead of their mysterious and much-anticipated Arthur’s Day appearance, Biffy Clyro tell us why playing in a spontaneous venue is a rare pleasure in their otherwise tightly-planned schedule.
The Scottish trio didn’t always have this problem however. Since 1995 they have been struggling to be recognized as more then just another rock band releasing self–titled “wonky rock records”. But in the past five years the they have exploded onto the music scene in a massive way.
While Irish music lovers have been buzzing with anticipation trying to discover the location of tonight’s gig as part of the annual Arthur’s Day celebrations, the band say they themselves have no idea where they will end up and until this evening, are quite happy to live in the unknown
“So much of our lives is dictated to us – we know exactly what we’re doing months in advance. This is quiet exciting because it keeps an element of spontaneity to it, so it keeps us on our toes.”
“I think it’ll really create a buzz atmosphere and those surprises happen in life far to selfdom nowadays”, says bassist James Johnston.
