Once Upon A Time

The Pogues: Once Upon A Time (WEA)

The Pogues: Once Upon A Time (WEA)

Once they howled they couldn’t play yet the merit of this song lies in how comfortably and unconsciously the Pogues now link arms. It’s folk, it’s rock’n’roll, it’s white country blues, it’s the Pogues and even if ‘Once Upon A Time’ doesn’t sound a contender for imminent canonization at the top of the charts, it still leaves me confident about their ability to prosper as well as survive.
