Stereophonics
Lars Ulrich once commented that a band knows they have truly made it if their audience is comprised of 50% men, 50% women.
Lars Ulrich once commented that a band knows they have truly made it if their audience is comprised of 50% men, 50% women. Looking around the crowd in the Olympia one thing is certain - The Stereophonics have definitely made it.
A psychedelic '70s-style back-drop boldly proclaiming the name of the band sets the tenet. This evening, ladies and gentlemen, is about good, old-fashioned rock'n'roll.
The show kicks off with the dark and dirty 'Mr. Writer', guitars growling as Jones' voice bursts forth glowing all the colours of the rainbow. Other classic Stereophonic anthems such as 'Just Looking' and 'The Bartender & The Thief' are scattered throughout the show, which proves to be a mellow affair, at times in danger of loosing momentum
For the Stereophanatic the evening is a magical journey through times past and present and for those of us that admire from a distance one can't help but enjoy the ride.
