Take a group of up and coming, like-minded singer-songwriters; put them up on stage, and let them perform a short set of their own songs
The idea is a simple one. Take a group of up and coming, like-minded singer-songwriters; put them up on stage, and let them perform a short set of their own songs. It’s a winning idea too.
Acoustic Junction has been on the road for a year or so and tonight’s line-up featured an impressive roster of talent in Cellar Club (featuring ex-De Danann, vocalist/guitarist Paul Mc Donnell), Sean Needham, Kevin May, and Chiara Brown.
The variety of fare on offer was impressive – Cellar Club’s melodic approach contrasted with the often whimsical style of Kevin May, while Needham veered towards acoustic rock. Australian Chiara Brown is a formidable talent recalling a range of female stylists from Bonnie Raitt to Julie London – one song inspired by September 11 was a particular highlight.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening of high-class acoustic fare.
