Nordie electro-poppers live up to the buzz
We’re not sure whether they’ve been sacrificing virgins in a giant wicker man or selling their souls to that great horny one down below, but Two Door Cinema Club have been unstoppable for the past six months. Already on board the TDCC train are Kanye West, Daft Punk and Blink 182, and it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world is too, if their debut record Tourist History is anything to go by. Featuring more short sharp shocks than a dodgy kettle, the songs are three minute awkward electro-pop anthems and the pace of the record doesn’t let up until the final minute of last tune ‘You’re Not Stubborn.’
Offering us ten economical tracks over the space of half an hour or so, the band have trimmed all the fat off the likes of ‘This Is The Life’ and ‘Undercover Martyn’. The impact is akin, in sporting terms, to getting punched in the nards by Ricky Hatton. TDCC rock.
