Seven Is Seven

Heading in the opposite direction of their peers, SSR, under the guiding hand of DJ Morpheus, have put together a double CD of hard-to-find, previously unavailable left-field tracks

Richard Brophy, 08 Nov 2001

If the glut of corporate chill-out compilations on the market has meant that you can’t listen to another Bent or Kinobe track without thinking of the words ‘Ibiza’ or ‘chill’ then this, the seventh instalment of Freezone, is the alternative you’ve been looking for. Heading in the opposite direction of their peers, SSR, under the guiding hand of DJ Morpheus, have put together a double CD of hard-to-find, previously unavailable left-field tracks.

Taking in Cibelle’s sound-track beats, Sonar Lodge and Max 404’s deep, sensuous house, Detroit Escalator’s wide-screen sounds and Kid Koala’s jazz-inspired cut-up hip-hop, Seven is devoid of any unnecessary ear candy.
