Musician and visual artist Hilary Woods is a newcomer to Electric Picnic but is certainly no strange to live performance. She released her debut EP “Night” to critical acclaim as part of an art installation curated and premiered by the Dublin Tiger Fringe Festival in autumn 2014, before taking her live set along with her accompanying experimental film to play shows in Berlin and Paris. She tells me who she’s excited to see this weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing LCD Soundsystem because I’ve never seen them before. I can’t wait to see Patrick Kelleher, I loved his last album and he has a new one on the way.”
Hilary also tells me she’s excited about the Theatre tent this year. “I want to see ‘Just a shot away/Just a kiss away’ by Maeve Stone, I think she’s an absolute inspiration as a director. Comedy-wise, I’m going to try to get to see Dylan Moran.” She also has kind words to say about fellow Irish musicians, “The Altered Hours”, calling them “the best psych rock n roll band in Ireland.” You can read our interview with “The Altered Hours” here.
Hilary Woods will play on Saturday at the Body & Soul stage at 3PM.
