Our chance to hear the full results of an unlikely collaboration between trash metal legends Metallica and former Velvet Underground icon Lou Reed is fast approaching - their album Lulu is set for release on November 1. Before that, we get first single, 'The View', out one week prior.

A 30 second clip of said single has just been unveiled, and you can check it out below. It features the characteristic low-end crunch of Metallica's guitars with Lou Reed sing-speaking in suitably sleazy fashion before James Hetfield starts sing-shouting at the fade.

More or less what you'd expect, then. 'The View' is available digitally from September 27.
