Upon receiving my HTC One X phone it finally struck me as to the challenge that lay ahead. Full of excitement, I didn’t know what to expect as I made my way towards Lame Dane as the announcer referred to Dame Lane. Never before have I used a phone to perform a photo-shoot of any sort and knew to start it would be tough in a low light atmosphere.
Upon entering the building I knew immediately I was at a HTC event. The green and white lights and balloons really set the tone. Meeting the other contestants we all felt the same way – we didn’t know what to expect. Putting down our Digital SLR’s and using just the HTC OneX we began to capture not just the band but the mood of the event, which was in just as high a class as the performance by Royseven. After uploading the photos to a laptop and starting a rough edit on the photos, I was incredibly surprised with how the phone coped – and video-wise was blown away. Top-notch stuff from an item that fits into your pocket. You can just arrive on-set and use a phone as a camera and catch some memories of a great night!
